Unable to join the dance company of her dreams without proper papers, Bubble becomes a caregiver to Jeanne, an Alzheimer’s patient. Despite the support of her American roommate, Mourad, New York wears down the young choreographer. Years later, she meets Soledad, with whom she has so much yet so little in common. It’s a tale of immigration, language and being there for one another.

Two hipster millennials meet on a train headed upstate: Lathaea and Swagger, a potential match. Punctuated by the streetwise musings of MC Through, their encounter could become more than a one-night stand.

Plume feels discouraged when her calling for medicine is misunderstood. At the lowest point in her life, Genie appears, igniting a passion for writing—an allegory for writer’s block and the ambivalence of the creative process.

Dissecting with humor and wisdom the clichés of romance, the comedian and her jazz band invigorate multicultural tunes with a rhythmic twist—an intimate journey of love through time, and timeless loves.

Weaving a spell of charm, joie de vivre, heartache, and defiance, this rhythmic tribute to the French spirit celebrates Paris as a beacon of liberty and a touchstone for artists and lovers around the world.

When you are the instrument – and broken, singing is an act of resilience. The vocalist, in search of her own voice, channels the legendary ‘Little Sparrow,’ transporting us back with that husky, mournful sound of the 1940s and ’50s.
Bio
Flo Ankah is a theatermaker from France whose solo plays with music have been presented at Joe’s Pub, Feinstein’s/54 Below and the Miami-Dade Auditorium. During her fellowship with Athena Theater she wrote Out of the Box (Symphony Space) and completed Green Apple Taxi on the footsteps of Tennessee Williams in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and under the mentorship of Lucy Thurber. Flo worked as a translator for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and the Comédie-Française, and wrote the cover letter to her green card petition, which is a work of art.– Sewanee Writers’ Conference
